About LILT

Created in 1994, LILT exists to serve the technological needs of the faculty and staff of the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Business as well as other consulting projects on campus.

LILT Mission

The purpose of LILT is to serve the technological needs of the faculty and staff of the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Business. We invite you to come to our lab and see what we have. If we do not have what you need, we have contacts with other units on campus and in the area. LILT was designed to serve a wide variety of purposes.

  • Provide computing resources not available in most departments.
  • Provide help with software and troubleshoot.
  • Help faculty test drive some potential software options for instructional use.
  • Help faculty develop original applications, programs, and publications.
  • Represent the interests of the Colleges at other levels of the University.
  • Help faculty and staff get appropriate assistance from other help units.
  • Help develop policies and programs of benefit to faculty, staff, and students in the Colleges.
  • Try to be champions for appropriate use of technologies.
  • Show concern for the instructional environments of our students.
  • Provide computing support for College units that have no other source of support.
  • To constantly try to be on the cutting edge of instructional technology.
  • To constantly try to reinvent ourselves as a helping facility.
  • ...and much much more.

LILT History

LILT was originally known as ELDCF and was created by the Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences, the Vice President of Academic Computing, and several interested Department Chairs and faculty, . We were housed in the Research Services Building, then moved into Stevenson Hall in room 227A, and are currently housed in Stevenson Hall 107.. In early 1995, our name changed to Laboratory for Integrated Learning and Technology (LILT). It was a happy fit, describing our ongoing mission of integrating technology into the learning mission of ISU. We have since added the College of Business to our client list and also support many grant based projects on campus.

Memberships

LILT is a member of the College of Arts & Sciences Tech Team (CAS-IT), a member of the College of Business Tech Team, an affiliate for clicker support via CTSS, a technical consultant for the Statistical Consulting Center, and a representative on Web-Pac.

LILT Policies

LILT abides by all federal, state, and ISU policies. We also participate in the creation and support of CAS-IT specific policies. In addition, we have policies that are specific to LILT.
